Synopsis

Mia Luchese comes from a family of vampire hunters, however they have not hunted in generations and Mia herself has never even seen a vampire.  Little does she know that her ex-boyfriend Colin is a vampire.  She’s really quite clueless on the vampire front until she is attacked by a rogue vampire whilst out jogging after dark.  She is rescued by Colin who although he broke up with her can’t seem to stay away from her.

Colin is a Reynard Prime (an alpha male vampire who takes drugs that allow him resistance to sunlight in return for protecting humanity) and he can’t stand by while Mia is targeted by vampires.  It brings out all his protective and possessive instincts.  Although he is supposed to be tracking down The Patron, a shadowy figure who experiments on vampires and is looking for the secret to eternal life, all he can think about is Mia and this makes him angry because he broke up with her so he wouldn’t have to think about her all the time!

The Review

I found this book more enjoyable than the previous books in this series (I Burn For You & I Thirst For You) but it is still vampire romance Mills & Boon style.  The emphasis in this book is again on the romance rather than exciting supernatural action.

Vampires are exciting supernatural creatures.  Depending on the imagination of the author they can have great strengths and powers which can be used for either good or evil but I find the vampires in these novels a little dull.   They are Vamp Lite, vampires with all the dangerous and exciting stuff taken out!

That said I know there are a lot of readers who prefer their vampire romance novels heavy on the romance and lighter on the supernatural horror and I think this book would be a satisfying read for those readers.  If you have enjoyed any of the other books in this series you will enjoy this book too.

LoveVampires Review Rating: Review Rating: 3 stars out of 5

Note: The first three novels in this series, “I Burn For You”, “I Thirst For You” and “I Hunger For You” are available in an omnibus edition called “Crave The Night”.
